IMPROVING ACCESS FOR BETTER MUNICIPAL SERVICES AND CIVIL ENGAGEMENT

Municipality of Ohrid has started with implementation of the project “Improving access for better Municipal services and civil engagement”, this project is a part of the activities under the second component of the project “Municipal Councils -Building capacities” funded by the UNDP and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in North Macedonia in amount of 50.000  CHF.

This project envisages reconstruction of the entrance stairs leading to the large municipal hall, installation of a hydraulic lift platform for the physically handicapped people, equipping the hall with special counters for the vulnerable categories and wheelchair space in order to facilitate easier access municipal services. The hall will also be internally equipped with new lighting, soundproofing in order to allow proper working conditions. The project “Improving Access to Better Municipal Services and Civic Engagement” was selected for implementation by the citizens of the Municipality of Ohrid within four sessions of the Forum of Communities, which were organized in December last year. The Community Forum consisted of seven working groups, which included representatives of the Ohrid Municipality Council, municipal administration, representatives of the non-governmental and business sectors, and the main topic of the Forum was social inclusion.
