Ohrid Mountain rescue center (MRC) from the Ohrid region representatives today held a meeting among Mayor Konstantin Georgieski and the mayors of the neighboring municipalities, Struga, Debrca and Vevcani. During this meeting, representatives of the rescue center demanded more active participation and support from the local self-governments regarding the wider Ohrid region inclusion.
Mayor Georgeski and other mayors, Ramiz Merko, Zoran Nogacheski and Saso Janoski, expressed their enthusiasm to materialize and financially support the functioning of this service.
Mountain rescue center by implementing the EU Cross-Border Cooperation Project “Lake Ohrid region, a safe destination for adventurous tourism” in cooperation with neighboring Albania, opened the first Operational and Training Center, positioned close to the Bus Station in Ohrid.
In the future, a study about sustainable development of the service (center) is expected, whereas will be employ several professionals as well as more volunteers will be engaged.
